Frequency of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Its Patterns in Families of Children with OCD in Rafsanjan, 2016

Background: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is one of the common psychiatric disorders among children and adolescents that can be created by both genetic environmental factors. Objective: The present study aimed to evaluate frequency OCD its patterns in families with children. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 95 who were referred Psychology Clinic Rafsanjan, Iran, 2016 enrolled a convenience sampling method. research tool was an obsessive-compulsive questionnaire (children form), interviews also carried out patients find deterioration symptoms them and/or their families. Data presented analyzed mean ± SD, frequency, Chi-square test. level significance 0.05. Results: highest washing, Checking, doubt. 36.7% fathers 56.1% mothers had patterns. Meanwhile, most pattern observed parents cleaning. total, 79.6% paternal 87.7% maternal OCD. Moreover, significant relationship levels between (P = 0.027), whereas no association detected parents. Conclusions: Family history (especially family) plays role development, which indicative transmission multifactorial traits, while heritability still not determined.
